Edit an unposted time entry
To edit an entry after it has been saved but before it has been posted:
- On the Batch Form, select the entry to edit.

Select Form > Open.
You can also double-click the selected entry.
- Edit the entry as needed.
Edit a posted and unbilled time entry
To edit a posted entry that is unbilled and not on an open prebill:
- Double-click Transactions.
- Double-click Time Entry.

Select Form > New.
A new batch is created.

Under Batch Type, select Adjustment.
A normal batch creates new time entries that do not post. A direct batch creates new time entries that post automatically when saved. An adjustment batch edits posted time entries.
- In Batch Comment, enter a comment.

Click OK.
The Batch window opens.

Select Form > New.
The Time Adjustment Search window opens.
- Select one or more search criteria:
- Date
- Timekeeper
- Client
- Matter
- Click Find Now.
- Double-click the entry you want to open.
- Edit the fields you want to change in the Time Adjustment Search window.
- Under Post in period of, select Today's Date or Original Date.
- Select Form > Save.
Delete an unposted time entry
To delete an entry after it has been saved but before it has been posted:
- On the Batch Form, select the entry to delete.
- Open the entry by selecting Form > Open or double-clicking the selected entry.
- On the Entry Form menu, select Delete.
Print an edit list
Use an edit list to print details for unposted batches.
- Open the area of Transactions where the batch is located.

Select the batch.
To select multiple batches, hold Ctrl while selecting each batch.

Select Tools > Print Edit List.
Edit lists cannot be printed for posted batches. For posted batches, print an audit list instead. For more information about print selections, see Reports Overview.
Mark a batch ready to post
Use Ready To Post to alert the person responsible for posting time entries that the batch is ready to be posted.
These steps are not required if the user entering time entries has permission to post time entries.
- Double-click the folder that contains the batch or batches to be posted.
- Select the unposted batch to include.
- Select Tools > Ready To Post.
You can also mark an unposted batch ready to post by double-clicking the batch to open it, then selecting Tools > Ready To Post.
Post a batch
Users must have rights to post to see the Post function. The batch status must be Ready to Post or Unposted. Empty batches cannot be posted.
- Open the area of Transactions where the batch is located.

To select multiple batches, hold Ctrl while selecting each batch.
- Select Tools > Post.
Print an audit list
Use an audit list to print details for posted batches.
- Open the area of Transactions where the batch is located.

To select multiple batches, hold Ctrl while selecting each batch.

Select Tools > Print Audit List.
Audit lists cannot be printed for unposted batches. For unposted batches, print an edit list instead. For more information about print selections, see Reports Overview.
Print a batch log
- Open the area of Transactions where the batch is located.

Select the batch.
To select multiple batches, hold Ctrl while selecting each batch.
- Select Tools > Print Log.

Purge transactions
Only posted and deleted batches can be purged. An empty batch must be deleted before it can be purged.
- Open the area of Transactions where the items are to be purged.

Select the batch to purge.
To select multiple batches, hold Ctrl while selecting each batch.

Select Tools > Purge.
A Purge Log is automatically printed.
Purging may also be completed through Report Queues. This option can be helpful for running purge functions on a regular basis to clean up old batches.
Unlock a batch
A batch is locked if it is opened by another user. Batches opened by another user cannot be unlocked.
- Open the area of Transactions where the locked item is located.

Select the locked batch.
To select multiple batches, hold Ctrl while selecting each batch.
- Select Tools > Unlock.
Matter status and lock requirements
A matter's status in Juris must be O - Open Matter or time slip entry is not permitted for the matter.
The matter's lock flag must be one of the following values or time slip entry is not permitted for the matter:
- 0 - Allow Time and expenses
- 3 - Allow time, disallow expenses
Import time entries
Time can be imported into Juris when the time batch information is formatted according to Juris time import specifications. The file must be in current ASCII delimited or CSV format.
To import time entries:
- Select Transactions > Time Entries.
- Select Tools > Import.

Select an import option.
The import option determines what happens to the imported file after the import is complete.
- Keep original file name after importing: Leaves the import file in its original location. The file is not renamed.

Rename files after importing: Renames the imported files and leaves them in their original location. Files are renamed by changing the last letter of the file extension to
0. For example,Importfilename.csvis changed toImportfilename.cs0. - Delete files after importing: Deletes the file. The import file cannot be recovered if it is needed later.

Move files after importing: Moves the import file to a different location. This is the recommended option. After selecting this option, click Browse and select the folder where the file should be moved.
You may need to change File Type to All Files (.) to view and select the appropriate file.

Click OK.
The import process starts. When it is complete, the time is inserted in a new normal time batch.
