The LawPay feature in Juris allows legal practices to accept trust payments online, streamlining the payment process by eliminating the need for traditional methods such as mail, phone, or in-person transactions. This feature is available in Juris Version 3.1 and higher.
In order to set up LawPay for Online Trust payments, you will need to enable the Online Payment Feature in Juris.
Enable LawPay for Each Matter
- Open a client record and navigate to the matters list.
- Open a specific matter and locate the Code tab.
- Check the Enable Online Trust Payments box to allow the client to submit trust payments via LawPay.
Generate and Use Trust Links
- Open Client/Matter Inquiry.
- Enter the client and matter details.
- Select Trust from the Inquiry Type dropdown.

- Select Tools and choose Get Trust Receipts.
- If a matter does not have an associated trust account, create one as prompted.
- Post receipts as you would with manually created ones in Juris.
Regular Maintenance Best Practices
- Regularly pull in trust receipts, ideally daily, to keep the system updated.
- Refresh links for matters that have made payments to allow clients to make additional payments.
