Activity Codes consist of a 1-4 character code, a description, and an optional narrative. Activity Codes can be enabled in Firm Options and required for specific clients or matters. They can also be included in bill designs for prebills, final bills, or both.
Activity Codes in Juris let users identify the specific activities performed on time entries. They can be used by themselves or with Task Codes. When both are used, the Task Code identifies the overall job, and the Activity Code identifies the specific function performed.

Overview of Activity Codes
Activity Codes can be applied to time entries to identify the type of activity performed for a client. They can be used by themselves or alongside Task Codes.
When an Activity Code is selected on a time entry, the Activity Code narrative can be automatically inserted into the time entry narrative if a narrative has been entered for the code. If no narrative is assigned, or if automatic population is not desired, the narrative field can be left blank.
Activity Code use on time entries is controlled by the Trans. tab in Firm Options.
After Activity Codes are enabled, they can be required for certain clients or matters by selecting Require Activity Codes on all time entries on the Int./Disc tab at the client or matter level.
The Activity Code and description can also be included in the bill design and printed on prebills, final bills, or both.
