The system includes functionality to search for Text Codes, edit, delete, and create new ones. This robust functionality helps to streamline data entry across various modules within the software.
Text Codes are shorthand abbreviations designed for frequently used phrases, sentences, or paragraphs. By setting up text abbreviations, firms can streamline data entry for timekeepers, enhancing accuracy and efficiency. For example, you might use TC to represent “Telephone conference” or IC to represent “Interoffice conference with.”
Text Codes can be used in various contexts, including:
- Transaction Narrative Fields: Quickly populate narratives with pre-defined text.
- Notecards: Maintain consistency in message entries.
- Financial Statement Layouts: Integrate standardized language into report designs.
- Billing Past Due Notes: Automatically adjust past due messages based on the number of days the oldest balance is overdue for a client or matter.
How to Use Text Codes
- Enter a Text Code: In any narrative field or on a notecard, type the Text Code (e.g., TC).
- Expand the Text Code: Press the F2 function key to replace the code with its full narrative (e.g., “Telephone conference”).
- Use the Lookup Feature: Alternatively, click the lookup button associated with the Text Code field.
